He sure looks like a beacon of physical fitness and a leading nutrition expert.
During an interview with MIT Technology Review, Gates said, “I do think all rich countries should move to 100 % synthetic beef. You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they’re going to make it taste even better over time.”
Basing his claims on the belief that beef is bad for the environment, the billionaire might be acting as an advocate for the Earth, but a recent video shows Gates giving an entirely different reason involving getting richer.
Discussing why places like America haven’t already pushed for 100% synthetic beef, Gates believed the government was to blame. “Eventually, that green premium is modest enough that you can sort of change the behavior of people or use regulation to totally shift the demand. There are all these bills that say it’s got to be called, basically, lab garbage to be sold. They don’t want us to use the beef label.”
Gates also suggested public opinion is swaying on the matter of synthetic meat, but online the comments were a bit different. “This is a conversation we need to have. Bill Gates owns more farmland in the US than any other, and in a time of dwindling supply, he’s pushing the idea of meat elimination. The words of a delusional man.”
Another comment said, “He’s putting his money all over the place making more money. But he’s not feeding the poor.”
One person noticed, “Why’s he so friggin’ jumpy, waving his arms all over the place, squirming in his seat… weirdo. Uggh, he revolts me. And PS as a vegan, I should be thrilled about all of this, shouldn’t I? I see right through this sick, demented agenda. They sure hoodwinked the vegan movement to get them all on board.”
